It is hard to believe that a year has passed already. My little guy, Jack, has grown so much so quickly that time has literally flown by. Mine and my husband's lives have changed a lot since Jack was born but now we couldn't imagine our lives without him.

Senior Session: Sarah
I have known Sarah for about 5 years now and it amazes me how quickly she has grown in that time. She is now a senior in high school and months away from starting a new life in college. Time goes by way to quickly.

After doing portraits at Sarah's house we went down the road to do some photos with her horse. By this time the sun had gone down so we did the photos in the barn. It turned out well because Sarah's mom really likes the rustic look and feel of the barn.
Sarah, I hope you and your parents enjoy the photos. See you soon!

Encore Session: Kristin & Dan
Kristin & Dan got married last year and wanted to do an Encore Session before they took the dress in to be cleaned. So we got together 2 weeks ago before sunset and had some fun.
The first location was an apartment building in West Bend. The light was absolutely gorgeous and the old building made a great background.
It felt so wrong to be in the alley with Kristin's designer dress. But then again, it was so much fun!

Refueling
On Tuesday evening, I got together with my photographer friends of The Collection for a night of food, drinks, and catching up. It was exactly what I needed as it has been hectic here with Christmas deadlines for albums. As we were talking I asked what everyone does to refuel creatively when they are busy with weddings and portrait sessions. Some said they travel, workout, or do other hobbies.
My way to refuel is to do personal projects. I may try new lighting techniques, wander around the city or countryside with a camera, or draw. I have been eying up a specific location for 4 years now and every time I drive past I am on my way to something and don't have time to stop. Last week I finally stopped and took photos. Please enjoy!

This house and farm reminds me of a photograph of my ancestors in the late 1800s. I think it is interesting to see the new homes in the background.

Kim & Dan: 10/24/2009
Here are a few of my favorite photos from Kim and Dan's wedding...

The ring bearer cried as it was his turn to walk down the aisle. His sister, the flower girl, was not going to give up the coloring book waiting for her in the front pew so she dragged him down the aisle to Grandma.
This photo may make the couple look like ants online, but when blown up to a 24x36 they will look perfect.
Kim thank you so much for trusting me on this photo. You didn't get a spot of dirt on your dress and your hair was still perfectly in place, and the photo is AWESOME! You rock!
The maid of honor wanted to surprise the couple with a few random goofy bridal party photos. I thought it was a cool idea so we headed outside and got silly. To view the entire day please click on the title above or visit miasphoto.instaproofs.com
Kim & Dan, it was an absolute pleasure working with you as well as your friends and family. Thank you so much for allowing me to capture your wedding day memories. I wish you both the best of everything as you start your new lives together.
